Switzerland 2006 [10 Sep 2006|10:39am]
[ mood | happy ]
[ music | Jake Coco - Bleu For You ]

Hey all,

got back yesterday from Switzerland and the climbing course i was on. It was really really good, just a shame about the weather scarpering a few of our plans, including screwing up Friday totally because the snow was too soft. There were 6 students on the course from different unis, and they were all legends except this one guy, who was a bell end. For the purpose of this entry, i will refer to him as gimp boy.

Hey all!! Finally back in Ipswich, and it's nice to be back with the family, it's been a while away.

Summer got off to cracking start after Malia, barring the obvious downer parts of the holiday, i'm so angry that anyone would ever hurt my mates, apparently nice guys come last. Myself and simpson decided one night to escape from the rabble and have a night out on our own, which proved interesting, as the part from one of the bars to the beach i can't remember at all, with only vague details of the beach including digging a hole, looking up and seeing a really bright light shining in our direction from the side of the beach, so i tried to hide behind the sunbed, while ontop of it! and then seeing james come out of a no-where, simpson was gone (apparently with shields) and then the stagger home (thanks James and Randy), creeeeeeeeaaaazy night! But Malia overall was fantastic, brilliant to see everyone and catch up, it was just like old times, and like we'd never just spent a year at uni.

Since being back, England have been cheated out of the world cup, O2 have decided they enjoy screwing my contract up (bell ends), but i do have two weeks with the UAS to look forward to, flying, playing sport, and adventurous trianing. Hopefully i can organise some more climbing for everyone.

Also, i was dead chuffed today to get the breakdown of my marks from the second semester. I managed to just scrape a first! :D Some of my surprising results were:

Control Engineering - exam mark 65%, when i thought i'd only just scrape a pass!
Mechanics of Solids - exam mark 97%, this is pretty crazy! highest ever exam mark!
Turbomachinery and Propulsion - exam mark 86%, another high for an exam! dead chuffed with this, as it was one of my favourite modules!

So overall, i'm well happy! Since i've passed my exams too, i'm definately off on my climbing trip to the alps in september, so woop woop!

Anyway, time to chill and listen to music, and possible consider tidying my room, which is a bomb site with all my uni and holiday stuff just lieing about!

WOO!!! Back home finally, and it feels fantastic! Had a busy last couple of weeks, the first of which was spent at Fontainbleau (just south-east of Paris), bouldering with the mountaineering club.

It was an awesome week, and we got some awesome climbing in, apart from the couple of days when it decided to rain on us. Here are some pictures from the week...

Last week, i was at Cranwell for Easter camp. It was pretty good, managed to get a flight in, so thats 5 hours logged now :D I also managed to take a group of my mates on the squadron climbing which was good, and cool to use my qualification for once! And i can also now take squadron members out in an 8 seater mini-bus/baggage wagon, the test for which was pretty funny. The guy got us to drive around all these cones forwards and backwards! Anyway, i'm knackered, hope to see everyone at footy tomorrow, also, does anyone know if theres zestage on monday night, i'm definately up for some!

Take care all

Hey all,

once again, my updates have been irregular and not very frequent, but i have indeed been busy with work, climbing and other stuff.

In some recent news, the UAS system has changed around meaning that although i'm colour blind i'm allowed to fly the new UAS flying syllabus! :D woo!!

Also, all of last week i was mostly doing this....

We also had a day of skiing in as a "rest day" which was awesome because i've not had the chance to ski in the last couple of years so that was all good!

Before our flight home, we had a few hours round venice as well which was excellent, and i've decided that i shall take my future lady there as it's the most beautiful city!

Anyway, i'm tired and must revise when i get up *cough* early tomorrow for the impending 6 exams that i have over the next 3 weeks.

Good night!

Nearly home! [15 Dec 2005|03:34pm]
[ mood | cheerful ]

Hey all! It's nearly christmas, and this is possibly my last update before christmas/new year. I can't wait to get home, but i've been asked to help at cranwell for the freshers stuff and we've got to edit the website a little, and thats on monday and tuesday, so my estimate of getting home on sunday have been dashed, which means missing monday night zest :( Well gutted. On the upside, it's only a couple of weeks until the dolomites trip which is going to be ace!! It may be quite cold, but it's going to be ace all the same!

Can't wait to see everyone, and be out again together!

See y'all soon! :-)

now, back to this report in for tomorrow...

also, what have i been upto recently. Had loads of work, got a group 40 minute presentation done and dusted last week, as well as a piece of coursework worth 20% of a module done, had the result back from that and got 93% so i was pretty chuffed with that. Coursework in for friday, maths test tomorrow, gotta catch up with tutorial work too, so it's all go!! I've been trying harder to get fit and build myself up in preparation for the trip to the dolomites in january, but also to improve my climbing.

It's been a great year so far, but it's going so fast, it's ridiculous that it's week 8 already, so i'm slightly worried that theres a lack of knowledge in my brain. I've thought of an analogy for my brain. It's like a tube with both ends open, now as you put stuff in, it fills up, then as it fills to the brim, the stuff that was put in first is now getting pushed out. Never mind, thats what revision is for!

Also, had a ganda at my OASC report from 3 years ago concerning my application for the RAF scholarship i've got. I've never seen it, so reading what i was like when i was 16 was quite enlightening! An important point to note was that under "Recommendations for Improvement", it said - "Should refrain from silly and immature comments" needless to say, that made me and a few of my friends laugh! Also with the uas, i've started the new flying syllabus, and i'm well looking forward to working my way up the hours!!

Anyway, thats enough rabbitting.

Take Care all!!

The Term so far! [07 Oct 2005|01:35pm]
[ mood | Hungover ]
[ music | Tiesto - Just Be ]

Hey all, haven't done an update for a while, i've got a lot to talk about thought! I've been helping out in freshers week for my old hall, and it's been such a laugh!! I'll begin on the sing off, which was on sunday night, it was split into 2 semi-finals and the final, which we got into, against 5 other halls, trying to be the sing off champions. It's basically a shouting competition, it's quite funny, with some really interesting chants coming out. Like one of ours last year was "We're Falk-Egg, We're Dirty, We're coming for your ass", but apparently the gay, lesbian, bi and trans people complained at that afterwards, which was a little gay, so this year, we changed that to "We're Falk-Egg, We're Dirty, We're coming on your gran!!" which is a little more inventive! Wrighty's hall Towers were in the final too, and the guy lived upto his name, and led the chants from the stage dressed in nothing more than a sombrero and some rather small underwear! Legend!

Continued invigorating story, AND A PICTURE!!!! )

UPDATE!! : I'm going to see bloc party on the 16th of this month :D i got the last available ticket for the nottingham gig! woo!

Hey yall. So fresher's week is going well, thursday went smoothly, with the unloading etc.

Last night was mint, sarah cox was at the union and it was awesome. It was so packed though, could barely move, and i kept losing everyone! was still a quality night though!

I've now seen my timetable, and i've got 9 o'clocks on tuesday, wednesday, and thursday, which i'm not overly happy about, but theres not a lot i can do about that. Oh well, cheers everyone, see you all soon!

Freshers week: Take 2.... [30 Sep 2005|01:21am]
[ mood | drained ]

wahey! hey all!! first update in a while, and this week, the subject is freshers week!! I'm a freshers helper this week for my hall last year, and today i've mostly been directing cars, explaining to people why there's a holdup to get parked, and showing people round the hall and to their rooms. Then when all the parents go home, it's partay time! when all the fun and game start! My current state after the first night of freshers week can probably be described as hammered/v.tired as i've been on my feet all day, but bothered cos i had an awesome time, and it's great to meet all the newbies and show them round, talk about past experiences, and be the older advisor for them, which was wicked, but i'm now feeling the after affects. I'm not sure if i'm sposed to get up for climbing tomorrow or not, so i'll go with the latter, as a good lie-in will do me muchly goodness as i'm pooped.

Anyways, my new address for this year is.........

25 Alan Moss Road
Loughborough
Leicestershire
LE11 5LR

so if anyone really feels like sending myself a letter (for which the postman will probs hand personally to me as i always have to get up and answer the door to the postman as nothing fits through our postbox) then please feel free!

Anyway, take cares ladies and gents, i'm gonna hit my sack......

WEEEE!!!! just got back from stereophonics gig in london, and it rocked! I found myself uncontrollably smiling at some points!! Sadly, me and my 2 chums had to leave my bro and his gf and mate, and the gig, early to catch the tube so we could get the last train home in time, which sucked because we missed Dakota and Just Looking which were two of the songs i was looking forward to the most :-( Damnit National Rail, you can't do anything right!

No pictures either sadly, i forgot a camera. On the upside tho, the house is cool, and it's nice to be living here now! Lots of floor space if anyone fancies a jolly up to loughborough!

Take care all, i'm tired.

Good evening all, haven't updated in a while, i spose i've not really got a lot to say, besides long entries bore everyone, unless its a conspiracy over something, in which case, everyone reads it, because everyone loves a conspiracy........anyway.....

today, i was at the driving range, whacking some balls off the practice mats, i actually started to improve, i'm not as good as i was, i've totally forgotten the correct technique, but it was still fun. Then myself and hendy went and got our blood leeched out of us by the lovely people at the NBS, so good job i'm not drinking (yet) tonight, as i'd probably be wasted on half a can!

GOOD LUCK TO ALL YOU PEEPS RECEIVING YOUR RESULTS TOMORROW, i hope you all get what you deserve, and i know pretty much all of you have worked your asses off, which means you'll all pass fantasmicly! HURRAH! another excuse for a drink! seriously though, i know what you're going through, i was in that boat last year, and from my point of view the night before, it was already at the bottom of the ocean! Keep smiling guys, you'll do great, and please, let me know how you all get on.

Take care all

Hey y'all, i'm back from coltishall, and had a wicked week. I had a program done for me, and my liason officer was a legend. I got to see pretty much all of the engineering sections on station including 6 squadron's front line, the 2nd line hangars, the bomb dumps, engine bays, the works! it was quality, and inspired me so much to really push on and try my best in my degree so i can hurry up and get in! Anyone even vaguely considering a career in the forces, the raf has a top lifestyle, but for engineering officer, it looks like it's gonna be tough work! Last night 5 of us went down from coltishall into norwich for a night out, it was quality, went to a great club called mercy, i totally recommend it, the dj was putting on some whack mixes. Some guy was apparently about to punch me, but i had done absolutely nothing, but my mate thought this guy was about to lay into me, god knows what i'd done wrong. Then on the way to our taxi, alec whacked my kebab into my face (you had to be there) and so i had a go at him, and some other guy got all rowdy and said - "oi don't talking to ma gurl like dat"...........twat. Was pretty tough getting up at 7:15 this morning tho!

Today i came home to my new bits for my comp, gonna put that together with pandy hopefully later, be good to see him as i've not in a while, then onto ryans gathering tonight. woop. i'm gonna lie in tomorrow big style!

Well i've just finished harry potter. Not that i was timing, but it took me 2 days to read it, very engrosing, very entertaining, but very dark indeed. I think the series from now on has turned on it's heels and is making its way towards the last book. I'm already looking forward to when the end of the saga comes, not because i think they're crap, but because i want to feel the emotion at the end of it all. This is ofcourse assuming that J.K.Rowling won't kill off Harry, and make it an unheard of ending where Voldemort will rule. Ok that would be quite funny to make the series end like that, but i really want to see a happy ending, as i do get quite involved in my books. Yes, ok, i'm sad. Bothered!

Bring on the end of Tom Riddle!

Oasis - Milton Keynes [10 Jul 2005|11:22am]
[ music | Oasis - Champagne Supernova ]

Well what can i say apart from awesome! The music was quality, and the support bands were great too. It was awesome to see the Zutons too as they were supporting oasis instead of babyshambles. The crowd was mostly full of drunken northerners unfortunately, but when oasis came on, everyone was singing and jumping. it was quality!!! :D We unfortunately had to miss the very last song of the encore to get out early, but it worked and we had no major traffic problems (although it sounded like the new exhaust was going to fall off our car!) Also, before oasis came on, i had the delight of seeing someone's nob poking into a cup going for a piss. lovely...

Off to felixstowe today as it's such a nice day, if anyones up for coming, give me a ring soonish, or join us later down there if you can get a lift!

Thanks to my brother for the ticket as it was my birthday prezzie, you're a legend.
